I really did my homework before choosing the Meade DS-2060; and you should too. Don't just choose the cheapest or the most expensive Telescope. Some people think they are getting the best if they buy the most costly item, while others just want to get by for as little as possible. Ask yourself a few questions.
What do you want to look at with your scope? If you just want to Bird watch or look at the moon, don't buy a deep space scope. However, if you want to see sharp focus details of a distant planet you will be very disappointed with a non digital computer assisted telescope.
I was interested in both. I wanted to see the planets but also enjoy tracking an F-16 Fighter jet screeching across the sky at 30,000 feet.
The DS-2060 met both of these needs and is a joy to use and at a price around $300 was very affordable for a Digital/Computer Telescope.
