Inexpensive Amateur Telescope, A Good Value
Pros
Decent construction, nice features, and the AutoStar controller is almost intuitive.
Cons
Material construction is cheap (ergo the price). The tripod leg supports are flimsy.

The Meade DS-2130-LNT is a very usable telescope for the serious amateur at a decent price. The construction is a bit on the cheap side but price/value is good. Out of the box (some assembly required) it was easy to setup and get going...didn't even need to read the manual.
After assembling the telescope it was easy to configure and setup the AutoStar system. The only gripe I have is with the Meade AutoStarSuite software...it is a bit dated (circa Windows 95) and somewhat buggy (refreshing the view while scrolling up or down). Oh yeah, and the bloody "Do Not Point this Telescope at the Sun Message). This requires pressing the "Speed/?" button on the controller before using the scope.
