Cheap...repairs....
I also aquired my ds 2130 for christmas, anxiously I assembled the telescope with ease. piece of garbage

Inexpensive Amateur Telescope, A Good Value
The Meade DS-2130-LNT is a very usable telescope for the serious amateur at a decent price. The construction is a bit on the cheap side but price/value is good. Out of the box (some assembly required) it was easy to setup and get going...didn't even need to read the manual.
