Meade 8-Inch Equatorial Wedge for 8-Inch LX200-Series Telescope

For 8-Inch LX200-Series. A long exposure necessity. An Equatorial Wedge is for exposures longer than about 5 minutes (under 5 minutes, a wedge is not necessary). A wedge permits precise polar alignment of your telescope in equatorial mode (compared to Alt/Az mode). This eliminates field rotation in long-exposure photographs by allowing you to align the telescope’s axis of rotation with the Earth’s axis of rotation. Die cast aluminum wedges include fine adjusters, no-tool knobs, and a compass for faster aligning on the pole. Choose the appropriate 8-Inch EQ Wedge or our extra heavy duty Ultra-Wedge.

Meade 8 Equatorial Wedge for LX200 / LX200GPS Series, and LX10, LX50 & 2080 Scopes.

The Meade 8" Equatorial Wedge made of die cast aluminum, is neccessary for long-exposure astrophotography and allows precise polar alignment of the telescope in the equatorial mode. For less than (about) 5-minutes short exposure images, the wedge is not required. The Meade 8 inch Equatorial Wedge comes with a deluxe latitude adjuster and azimuth fine adjuster for precise polar alignment. Requires no tool knobs, for easy assembly of the Wedge to the tripod and the scope to the wedge, It includes a compass for faster aligning on the pole.
