Memorex CD/DVD Sleeves Color 50 Pack - An inexpensive alternative to plastic cases.
Pros
Space saver, Easy to use when lending discs to friends/family.
Cons
Less protection provided by sleeves when compared to plastic disc casings.
Recommended it?
Yes
The Bottom Line:
A great product for those discs many of us tend to leave lying around with no cover. I would not recommend using these for very important discs.
About the Package/Contents:
1) Contains 50 sleeves for putting DVD's or CD's in.
2) Contains 10 of each color sleeve: Blue, Yellow, Red,
Green, and Orange
3) Back of package has English, French, and Spanish
description of product.
Description of Sleeve
Sleeve is made of stiff paper and colored on outside, inside of paper sleeve is always white in color. Circular see through view of sleeve contents is provided by thin plastic liner which is cheaply glued to paper portion of sleeve. Top portion of sleeve has a flap which can be tucked into body of sleeve to protect disc from falling out, and also untucked to remove/add disc again and again.
Notes / My Opinions
At a cost of only a few dollars for a 50 pack, this is a very cost effective means of storing discs. Another advantage (especially over plastic covers) is how thin the sleeves are. Stack 10 sleeved discs on top of each other and your discs will only be about an inch high. You can write in marker or pen on the paper portion of the sleeve or just let the label show through the sleeve window.
When ever I lend or create a disc, I tend to use these sleeves due to the ease of use.
Cons Explained
You get what you pay for in regards to protection. A thin sleeve such as this one will not provide much protection. Since discs are relatively light objects this is only a small drawback.
The plastic liner inside the sleeve is cheaply glued, so if you accidentally poke or prod the plastic portion, a piece may tear away. This has only happened to me once.
These sleeves are useless against protecting from water or other liquids. The paper can become saturated and possibly wreck the containing disc.
