Memorex MHD8021 (2 GB) MP3 Player

We purchased this unit and when we tried to use it. It would not power up after charging. All instructions were carefully followed. Exchanged it for another and found the same problem. After holding forever on the Memorex help line ( a toll number) I finally reached a breathing body by experimenting with pushing different numbers than instructed by their recording. I told the person at Memorex about the terminal hold on their help line. He said I don't know of any problem, and we have not had any calls on that line. I guess it was all in my head. I was told that these players have problems with the internal battery, and that I could exchange it for another where I purchased it but that I'd probably see the same problem with it. The alternative is to wait three weeks for them to send one from their warehouse. If they know of this problem why don't they swap out the store stock? After this I will avoid Memorex products.
