Memorex DVD Player MVD201 is Basic but Affordable

Great no frills DVD player that is easy to use.
Every few years I must replace a DVD player because they get an enormous amount of use in our home. I recently purchased the Memorex Progressive Scan DVD Player to replace a Philips.
I was skeptical at first because the DVD player is as small as my portable DVD burner for my computer and was priced at $26.00USD at Target. I stood in the store looking at the 5 DVD players they had on display ranging from $26.00 to over $200. How could this be? This just didn't make any sense to me but I reminded my self that I would be replacing this one in just a few short years as well and decided to buy the absolute cheapest thing they had on the shelf.
This DVD player has zero special features. It doesn't even have a clock on it. Well, maybe that's an issue for you but not here. Our cable box has a clock and we have a wall clock in our TV room and a clock on our home computer in that same room. How many more clocks do I acutally need? Besides, that's just one more thing to program and I really can't be bothered with that twice a year or more because of power outages.
I hooked this DVD player up in...get this, less than two minutes. I'm not exagerating. There was nothing to do but plug in the power and hook it up to the TV with the color coded cables included.
This is your basic, nuts and bolts type of DVD player. Its quiet (some have a quiet sound when spinning) and compact. It does your basic fast forward, rewind and pause.
The remote control is small and easy to understand and use. The range is not very good, you must aim directly at the DVD player for the remote to work.
