Memorex Progressive Scan DVD Player
Pros
compact mp3 and avi capabilties
Cons
poor quality, obscure placement of buttons on remote, poor remote range
Recommended it?
No
I bought the Memorex Progressive Scan DVD Player less than a year ago. It took about 5 months before it started to conk out on me. I would not recommend this product to anyone at all. I have a couple other friends who have had similar experiences with this particular product as well.
First of all the range on the remote is not so great. You have to make sure you are pointing it directly at the player and not too far away. Also, the arrangement of buttons on the remote is rather obscure. The play, stop, and scanning buttons are no where near each other.
The product seems to have pros by being compact, easy to hook-up, and has mp3 and avi capabilities. However, these features are not worth the product's hassle and erratic behavior. After only 5 months I started getting "wrong disc" and "error data" messages while trying to play ORIGINAL cds and dvds. It takes effort to play around with opening/closing, powering on/off, and even unplugging the product to get my discs to finally play.
The Memorex Progressive Scan DVD Player is a poor quality DVD player! Any product that is this much of a hassle is not worth ANY price!!
