Portable DVD prices are lower than ever. As of this time(Christmas 2010) prices are as approximately $80 for an 8-inch, $100 for a 9-inch. The Memorex MVDP1102 stands out with $100 for 10.2 inch screen. So, I decide to get the Memorex. Here's my report:

Kept freezing-up after 1 week of use
This model, I learned, is basically the same as the Initial IDM-1731. I checked for a review on the Memorex Model MM-7000 before buying it at Sears (~$195), but there was no review. Numerous problems
This is my first DVD player. I purchased the unit at Sears. Like the Gagregory review, I had problems with the unit not loading the CD. It would only load the CD about 50% of the time. The controls on the unit & the remote were unresponsive quite often. CD would freeze up during play. Read full review »
