Envision 5100e flat screen monitor

The Bottom Line:
Lightweight, bright, inexpensive, great warranty, easy to attach to old computer. Note: price quoted was with $100 rebate (in the mail).
Plugged this machine into my 4 year old Pentium 2 class, 233 Mhz warrior, Windows 95 system, wondering if it would be compatible. Didn't have to run any new drivers, the "auto config" took over and the image arrived bright and clear. Machine came with a floppy disk for drivers which I didn't use.
Was able to set the resolution at 1024x768, while the old SVGA monitor maxxed at 800x600.
Text and pictures are clear as bell, don't usually run video games on this machine, so can't vouch for that. The screen has anti-glare and seems to send off much less radiation, easier on the eyes than the old CRT when I'm on a long roll.
Claims much less energy to run than CRT.
Got a great deal on this machine, due to Turkey-day rebate offer. The $100 off should be in the mail...
Envision offers 3-year warranty, which is reassuring, which I hopefully won't have to use. If I did, least it wouldn't take an arm and a leg to ship, weighs only about 10 pounds, came in an easy to carry box.
Believe flat screen monitors to be the wave of the future. The old 17" CRT looks large and antiquated, would like to drop it from a high building on hard pavement. By the way, the true diagonal on the Envision is 15-inch, while my old "17-inch" machine was a true 16-inch, corner to corner. The Envision LCD screen seems just as big, maybe because of the flat screen and the higher resolution.
Have only played on this for a day, but see no reason not to highly recommend this as an inexpensive machine for the masses.
