We have always found Midland a reputable brand, but with the latest purchase of the GXT 400 radios we've had nothing but disappointment.
Within 5 minutes of opening the box one was already malfunctioning, and the other stopped working within a week.
The ring and vibrator features come on all by themselves and run the battery down in no time. The only way to stop the vibrator is to completely remove the batteries. The lock also comes on by itself and none of the buttons work without shutting the unit off and turning it back on again.
In the same week, a coworker also bought a pair of Midland radios and had to return one of them because it didn't work.
Tried customer support and were kept on hold for a half an hour before giving up. Checked into e-mail support, but they say the average time to reply is 30 days. In my opinion, I'd rather deal with a company who has better support and products.
