Midland Radio quality?
We have always found Midland a reputable brand, but with the latest purchase of the GXT 400 radios we've had nothing but disappointment.
Within 5 minutes of opening the box one was already malfunctioning, and the other stopped working within a week.

Worth the wait

HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT. 14 MILES IS HOW FAR YOU ARE GOING TO WANT TO THROW THIS CRAP. GXT 400 Performed well
I used my GXT 400 pair for the first time while on vacation in November. On board the cruise ship they performed remarkably well. On shore in the Caribbean they had a range of about 3 to 3.5 miles. Review update a year 1/2 later:
They still work fine ! One of them spend a couple of hours in a snow bank (my wife), the other one fell in a lake while turned ON (my son). Both radios survived my family. They even survive my screwdriver. Yes as an electronic engineer, I like very much to see...
