Reliable workhorse
After reading many articles about new cameras and considering my old 9000 died and is not repairable, according to MINOLTA, I decided to buy the Minolta 800si. This camera is called the Dynax 800si in Europe.

Max the ratio of camera/dollar
Among the three brands, Nikon and Canon are clearly selling at the premium to Minolta. For pros, it might make sense for them to choose Nikon or Canon for the better choice of lens. Truly a wonderful camera!

800si is Great
Have had mine for about 6 years now. Still works great.
Do use care with the side window, if it's open it could break off. It takes a little getting used to all the buttons but you'll learn.
Has many many pro features on it.

Great Camera
I've owned an 800si for 2 years and the pictures it takes are phenomenal. I recently visited Carlsbad Caverns and took several rolls of 800 speed film with it and they came out superbly!
