A REALLY big tv!
Pros
Slim size, 120 hz refresh rate, big picture
Cons
Remote buttons, menu, user friendliness lacking
Recommended it?
Yes
The Bottom Line:
It is a BIG picture, and overall good package. Few minor things I would change, but glad I got it.
I heard about the new 2009 law that is going to do away with analog signals. So I decided to get a tv with a digital tuner and have always wanted to get a flat screen for the living room. I like the small frame around the screen - not a lot of excess. The picture of course is huge since it's a 52 inch. I bought the 120 hz refresh rate model since it's supposed to have a better picture and I did notice a difference between the tvs that have the 120 hz and the ones that do not.
I have only had the tv for a week but I have already noticed a difference in tv shows - sitcoms look a little fuzzy. I did not pay for the HD TV through my cable company, so I don't know what those channels would look like. Movies play really well on the screen and you do have the option to change the "format" to zoom in, zoom out, stretch the picture, etc. based on what kind of show/movie you are watching. There are LOTS of inputs and places to plug things in on the back and a spot on the side as well.
The remote has several buttons that seem kind of worthless - the F1-4 buttons at the bottom. I read the manual on it and it seems to say that it doesn't work on all models - so not sure why they are on my remote if they don't work with this model. The menu is not as user friendly as it could be. The sound system that comes with it is nothing exciting - definitely could benefit from surround sound or external speakers of some kind.
