WOW!!!

bygkrank Jan 27, 2004
Pros Picture (brightness,color,clarity) Style,ease of use,features offered.
Cons Viewing angle, but this is true of all projection T.V.'s.
Recommended it? Yes
The Bottom Line:  After reviewing most other makes and going to the store to compare picture quality and features this one in my opinion beat the others hands down.
I spent months researching and visiting stores that sell projection T.V.'s. I finally decided on the Mitsubishi 48". I bought it from BestBuy January 13,2004. It cost me $1599.99,but after mail-in rebates and coupon offers I ended up paying $1349.99.
First let me say do not buy a projection T.V. without auto convergence, and 4:3 aspect ratio enhancement! Cable is broadcast in 4:3 format and it will look stretched and distorted on your projection T.V. With the 4:3 enhancement it conforms the picture to a natural look as it was meant to be seen. Also the CRT needs alignment after long term use and trust me you don't want to do this manually. Mitsubishi offers both of these features.
This T.V. has all the component inputs you can possibly need, and a nice feature is if you don't have a certain component hooked up you can turn it off. This way when you go through the component menu you will not have to scroll through the ones you don't use. This makes it quicker to use and access only the ones you do use. Also this T.V. weighs 174lbs. and I was wondering how will I manage such a big T.V., but it's on wheels and you can move it with very little effort. It's amazing!
The remote control is easy to use and program. I've programmed mine to access my cable box,DVD,and VCR. The menu setup is so simple and easy to understand it took me a couple of minutes before I was ready to watch this T.V.
I hooked up a progressive DVD,and home theater system and let me tell you I don't think I'll go to the movies again! The picture is awesome! Even without the progressive DVD the picture and color and brightness of this T.V. is great! I'm hoping to hook up to HD cable soon and can't wait!
If you're looking to buy a projection T.V., trust me you want this one. I'm totally happy with my purchase and would recommend it to anyone. It's large enough to wow you but not too large to overwhelm.
