Mitsubishi WS-55819 55 in. TV

When I finally broke down and purchased this gem I was awed by the larger than life picture. The colors are brilliant and accurate. When viewed with my Denon 2800 progressive scan DVD player, I was thrown into my local theatre without leaving the Living room. The ease of use and picture adjustments is ergonomically precise. The only drawback to this television is that it displays the impurities of analog television. Regular television or cable looks awful on this set. Experimenting with the 5 picture formats sometimes helped. Zoom looks best for movie that is letterboxed on television. Standard mode distorts regular television. Narrow I just could not get use to since it displays 2 gray bars on each side of the screen. Stretched if you can get use to looks okay for regular television. Where this Television shines is with Progressive scan DVD's and High Def programming. That is what this set was meant to reproduce and it does better that any set I have seen so far next to the higher priced Pioneer models
