The Bottom Line:
You can't go wrong with this set for ATSC/HDTV reception. If you wish to use cable TV, it will perform fine with a line doubler to increase the signal resolution.
I purchased this HDTV-ready television in January of 2000. I have been quite impressed with it. The color detail is phenomenal. But, what made me purchase this TV instead of the WS 55807 model was its black color detail. It's much richer on this model than the WS 55807. HD content on this TV is spectacular! However, NTSC input is slightly better than average. I suggest using a satellite service (such as DirecTV or DISH) instead of your local cable service with this TV. Local cable service doesn't look that great. The quality of the over-the-air HD/ATSC reception more than makes up for this. If you have to use cable TV, I suggest purchasing a line doubler (such as the iScan Pro). It makes up for the lack of signal power that seems to haunt cable TV.
