The Bottom Line:
If you have the budget, and are in the market, get this TV, you won't be disappointed.
I had been researching big screen TV's for about two months when I finally decided on buying the model 65807 Mitsubishi.
I hadn't actually planned on buying it, I thought I was more in the market for a 40 to 43 inch screen. When my wife and I went to the store, I couldn't believe the difference between that TV and the 40 inch models. The colors are absolutely outstanding, the screen is bright and it has a pretty good angle of view.
The downside to a screen this large is any static that you pick up on your normal TV reception (I only have a pair of rabbit ears for reception I'm holding out for a digital receiver) is that the static is that much bigger and noticeable. The sound system on it isn't the greatest, which is fine, with a screen this large, you've got to have a surround sound system, it seems incomplete without one.
We have a progressive scan DVD player and the picture from it is outstanding. Very crisp and sharp, even with standard 4:3 formatting. The stretching is most noticeable when the camera pans across something because the TV just stretches on the sides.
All in all, it's a fantastic TV. I highly recommend it if you are in the market for a big screen.

I have had some problems with this TV. There was a problem with the convergence in which the picture tubes would not stay completely lined up. They were okay in the middle of the screen, but the farther you got to the corners of the picture, the farther apart the tube alignment was. After several visits from the repair man and a little trial and error we seem to have it fixed. That being the case, I would highly recommend getting the extended service warranty, even though the repairs on the TV were approximately the same price I would have paid for the warranty. Even with this problem I am still highly recommended this TV, it's just tough to beat.
