65 Inches of Television Magic

Pros Ease of set-up and overall brilliance of the set -- NetCommand a huge +
Cons Very heavy -- must have a room that can handle it!
Recommended it? Yes
The Bottom Line:  Outstanding unit, easy to use/setup, picture quality amazing. I would recommend this TV to anyone who has a room big enough to fit it in!
First of all, for those of you still leery about rear projection televisions, I was too. This set however will change your mind, no question. Its sleek, styled, glossy black finish does not in anyway distract you as you gawp at the enormous (it didn't look nearly that big in the store)65" widescreen presentation. Without HD 480 is the standard but looks even more remarkable in the 1080i mode that my Mitsubishi HD DirecTV receiver provides. Until more programming becomes available in HD and since most programming still is not presented in widescreen format, three options are provided to fill your screen -- choose standard -- the others will mess with your head. The inputs are easy to id during set-up and you can connect ANYTHING to this TV. The NetCommand feature eliminates the need for multiple remotes and will actually change the selected function on your receiver as you switch TV inputs! (This feature utilizes the "firewire" technology and also allows you some interesting computer options if you are diligent and willing to research them on the web (any search engine should get you where you need to be!) Get the glare screen -- especially if you have kids or pets -- its cheap insurance. Despite claims to the contrary by others in various chat rooms -- i have experienced NO incompatiblilty with the Monster Power Surge Decks. The unit is heavy -- make the delivery guys carry it to its FINAL destination -- It is better if they do not have to seperate the two pieces -- it comes sealed together but can be dissassembled if it MUST be, avoid this! I bought the unit from Tweeter for $3299.
