FANTASTIC PICTURE!!!!!
Pros
Lots of inputs, Simple remote control functions, Superb picture, Wide viewing angle for a CRT
Cons
5 Watt speakers are inadequate, sound leveling doesn't kick in for 10 seconds or so
Recommended it?
Yes
The Bottom Line:
Buy the set. Best set in price range and is a rock solid Mitsubishi. Phenomenal picture quality.
I bought this TV because I wanted a tabletop HDTV ready set with out spending 3 G's on a DLP. It was either this or the Toshiba. Not only was this one priced lower, but in a side by side comparison the Toshiba seemed much darker, and the viewing angle did not seem as good.
I didn't buy the matching stand because there is hardly any storage and I thought it looked a bit cheesy.
Anyone that picks up the remote can figure it out within a minute, I love it. I am in love with the split screen feature, use it all the time (especially during playoff months). You also has PIP, and on one setting the TV will actually cut the screen in half and on the left side have the channel you left it on and the right side will cut the screen up into either 3 or 9 smaller screens and actually flip through the channels for you. I use it very rarely and is more of a gimmick than anything else.
The set is light, which makes it very mobile which is an issue for me because i move so often. The picture is bright and very sharp and I love showing off movies like Finding Nemo on it.
I have my Xbox hooked up to it and the progressive scan and high-def games look tremendous on it. 4 person Halo is wild, although i find myself turning up the brightness when playing a lot of games.
The internal speakers are extremely weak, but if you don't have a system to compliment this set, then buy a system first.
Watching HDTV programming through VOOM Satellite looks phenomenal. (homer Simpson gargle....)
I shopped around a lot and this Mitsubishi packs a lot of features for an unbeatable price. BUY IT!!!
