Great TV

Pros Nice picture; small enough for a "regular" home
Cons Too deep (28"); viewing angle a little shy compared to others
Recommended it? Yes
The Bottom Line:  I would certainly recommend this TV, even for a smaller room -- just make sure you have a corner available.
We've had this TV for almost 6 months; after waiting for 2 months to get it delivered, it's been great. I was very nervous before it was delivered, as I found a website with a forum on Mitsubishi TVs, and they did all this convergence (with an extra something you have to buy), and all this other stuff. They were speaking a different language! But the TV came, the delivery guys put it up on the stand, we plugged it in, hooked up the cable, and viola! It works great. I followed the directions in the manual to a "T" to ensure we were doing everything right. We have a surround sound system, a DVD/VCR and regular cable hooked up to this TV. The DVD player is not progressive scan (like the Mits Forum said you should have), but DVDs are great. The only time there is a problem is on a sunny day, we get reflection from the windows and it makes it hard to see. But since everyone's at school/work all day, it's rare to watch TV in the daylight anyway. The viewing angle on this TV (I believe) is only 160 degrees; others I looked at are 180. It's not really a problem as we put the TV in a corner. Plus, I found that unless you're putting it in a wall-size entertainment center, you can't really put it flat against the wall because of the depth. This is really the only "con" I have found with the TV; most others are 20-21" deep. The Mitsubishi is 28" deep. Makes a big difference when you get it in your room.

06/18/02 Update: We've had the TV a year now. Upgraded to the Progressive Scan DVD player (a JVC 7 disc), but I personally notice no difference. (Note: I did not upgrade the DVD player for any reason that had to do with the TV; I just wanted one to play more then one CD so I didn't have to change it all the time.) I still love the TV. Never did all that convergence stuff, just changed the settings to our taste and left it. It's great. No complaints & still highly recommend!
