Clear and Reliable!
Pros
Crystal clear.
Cons
Bigger than newer phones.
Recommended it?
Yes
I received my Motorola MicroTac 650 free with my cell phone plan. I was offered a non-flip phone or for $50 more a smaller phone. I decided to get the flip phone because it shuts off when you shut it, and I didn't want the small phone so I wouldn't lose it.
The Microtac 650 has been real dependable for me. My wife keeps it in her purse when she leaves the house and I carry it when we go out together. I purchased a leather carry case from the internet for $12.50 ($30 from my cell phone service). This way I could clip it on my belt when I use it. The case also helps to cushion any drops or bumps with the phone.
It has been a real reliable phone for us. The only static problem we run into is in the local Walmart store. Otherwise it is usually crystal clear. I use the phone as a second phone line, when I am on the internet writing epinions. I turn the phone on each night so my friends and family can reach me. Then I recharge it when I go to bed. The battery seems to last longer than the 8 to 10 hours without phone time. I have never talked for more than 30 minutes at a time, so I'm not sure about usage time on the battery. The only problem we had was the battery coming unlatched a few times and not realizing it because it is in the leather case.
It has ten presets for phone numbers and the standard features like ring or vibrate. I put a piece of velcro on the leather case so the flip part does not get accidentally broken when I am wearing it. I have since seen many of the new smaller phones and would not mind having a smaller phone, but for an all around good phone, it does the job.
