Don't forget to purchase a car charger for this beauty

Pros Looks stylish, mp3 player, camera
Cons Battery life, keypad, difficult navigation
Recommended it? No
The Bottom Line:  For this amount of money there has to be a better phone
When I first purchased this phone six months ago I was really excited. I had previously owned a Razr V3 and was very happy with the quality and features of that phone. Unfortunately Motorolla has disappointed me with this updated version of the Razr.

First some of the improvements from the first Razr are the inclusion of the MP3 player, touch screen, 2 megapixel camera, 2 GB of internal memory, and a larger and more crisp screen.

The touch screen on the new Razr is only useful for two things. One is to control the MP3 player. The other is to view your messages without opening the phone. However you cannot text with the phone closed. If you receive more than two messages at once, you need to open the phone to view them.  So other than those two features the touch screen is pretty useless.

My biggest complaint is the battery life. It is far from bad. It is actually unacceptable for technology in this day and age. Why Motorolla would build a phone with an MP3 player and a web browser and not include a longer life battery is beyond me. I would gladly sacrifice the thin and stylish look for a longer life batter. I have a friend with an identical phone who has the exact same complaint. I find myself charging the phone more often than not. Usually twice per day. Another complaint is that once the battery meter reaches zero bars, you only have about 10 minutes on standby until the phone dies.

Texting on this phone can be difficult. This keypad is not very user friendly for those of us with larger fingers. If you like to text a lot you may want to choose another phone. I do like how the phone shows the 5 most frequently texted people. That is a nice feature and keeps me from having to scroll down my phone list to send a text.

Navigating through the features on this phone can be a bit confusing and takes some getting used to. I also find it difficult to locate some of my photos at times. There are too many storage places where things end up. I do like how I can customize the main screen so I can use the arrow keys for shortcuts. That way I can use my camera or access my phonebook or messages by touching one key.

I think it's great that the phone comes with 2 GB of memory but unfortunately it cannot be expanded. This does let me keep quite a bit of pictures and music on the phone.

Call clarity is very good. I am sure the service provider used has a lot to do with clarity as well. There is an included speaker phone but I find it difficult to put the volume on loud enough to hear the other person so I usually don't use it. The speaker can also be used to play MP3 music

One thing that may seem trivial to some but is an issue for me is the vibrate mode. I find it very difficult to feel the phone vibrate sometimes. I usually keep my phone on vibrate since I often cannot use the ringer. I often am unaware of calls or texts because of not feeling the phone vibrate.

The camera on this phone is only 2 megapixels. Not bad for a phone. The pictures actually turn out pretty well for a camera phone. It would be nice to see a flash however. But with the poor battery life on this phone it is probably a good idea it does not include one.

Overall the phone is stylish with many features but for something that was designed to be an improvement from the original it leaves a lot to be desired. The battery life of the phone is a big problem in my opinion. When a phone comes packed with web browsing capability and a MP3 player it should have the battery to support the technology.
