Motorola Soft-Pak Tote Phone - Review by Steve007
Pros
Excellent Call Quality and comfortable handset, great ability to get a signal where other-handsets fail.
Cons
Poor battery life and basic functions, large, not pocket sized.
Recommended it?
Yes
The Bottom Line:
Great handsets for construction site foreman or those where pocket sized comms device is not a must. I'd recommend this for rural use - excellent signal retrieval, call quality 10/10.
You're on the go, but not out of reach. Whether traveling on rural roads or urban highways, the Motorola Soft-Pak Tote phone features a full 3-watts of power for great coverage - even in fringe areas. Convenient hands-free operation helps you manage important calls on the road. Plus, you can operate on two cellular systems with two separate phone numbers - one for travel, one for local. A great way to save on roaming charges if you return to the same location frequently!
Phone book stores up to 30 numbers.
Caller ID - View information on incoming calls before answering.
Unlimited talk time when powered by vehicle's battery.
Up to 140 minutes talktime or /40 hours standby time with a battery.
Automatic Hands Free.
Data Capable - use your cellular phone and optional data accessories to transmit faxes.
2 Phone Number Capable - great for frequent travelers.
9 Individual Ring Styles.
Turbo Dial? keys 1-9 - press only one button to make a call.

My personal feeling on this phone is that it works well, where coverage is sketchy. The size of the device may put some people off, but whilst this is not a pocket sized device, the advantage of a large chassis will benefit greatly when it comes to making calls in fringe coverage areas and call quality.
Therefore, its an ideal comms device for those not concerned with a pocket sized device.
