Motorola TracFone C139 Cell Phone

I purchased this phone from Wal-Mart as an upgrade from my old Nokia 1100. In general I found the interface unnecessarily complicated. For example, to simply select who you wish to text message in the Create Message screen, you must select Change, then Browse, then Phonebook, then Add, then Done, and finally OK. Six key presses and all I did was select my recipient! My voicemail has never worked even after filing multiple support tickets with Tracfone. Perhaps the most annoying feature is that this particular phone charges .3 units per text message sent or received, whereas most Tracfones charge .3 units only to send, with free receiving.

However, the phone is very cheap and certainly does what it's supposed to. The color screen and updated body design are definitely welcomed after the embarrassingly ugly Nokia 1100. My only qualm with the design is in the text messaging screen, the Backspace button is located directly above the Cancel button, and I've certainly had to begrudgingly rewrite a few lengthy texts due to this layout flaw.

If you're looking for a simple phone to send and receive calls, this is it. However if you're an avid texter, I would highly recommend looking at another Tracfone as this model is not text-friendly, both in cost and design.
