Yes
The Bottom Line:
This phone is for people who want something simple that works, not a fancy 3" touchscreen with a million apps
In an age where cell phones are rapidly evolving, one has to constantly evaluate new phones for their solidity. Will I like this phone? Will it do what I need it to do? Does it have the features I want? Is the design comfortable?
I don't know about you, but I use my phone for 6 things:
-As a replacement for a watch
-To make calls
-To text
-As a planner
-To take the occasional picture
-as an alarm clock
As far as flip phones go, this one is great for replacing the watch. The time is always visible on the front, so you never have to open it up.
I have always felt most comfortable with the flip-phone calling setup. You have to open the phone to talk, and the shape makes it easy talk and listen at the same time. Again, it performs its job perfectly.
Texting with a full querty keyboard may be a little bit faster, but it is a feature that I do not need. I am perfectly content texting with a numeric keypad. This phone does that.
While it does have a built in planner feature, i just use notepad. Writing myself a little note so I dont forget works just fine.
It takes pictures. Not good picutres, but pictures.
The speaker is the loudest of any phone I have ever heard. It has three alarms that can be set at different times, and this phone as been the only thing that reliably wakes me up every single day for work.
The only problem I have had with this phone is the notorious charging port. Motorolas aparrently don't have good charging ports, and the w385 is no exception. To compensate for this, I bought boxy external battery charger and an extra battery. Now, I charge one battery while the other is being used, and switch them out as needed.
