The Bottom Line:
If you want an MP3 player that is super portable and makes a statement, the N200 is for you- you won't find a better value out there!
If your like me you don't need to carry 1000's of songs around with you. I work in electronics and for the money and size this is the best flash player I have found. It operates on 1 AAA battery, that last for 15 hours--- and the good news is that it really does last that long! You can drag and drop files for easy transfer--- no software programs needed to organize your music.
The N200 is super easy to use. It also has a lot of extras, like a voice recorder. This voice recorder is just as good as the ones you will find at my store for $350+. I actually used the recorder a few weeks back for one of my college classes. The instructor was a good 40+ feet away from me and I could hear him loud and clear when I played back the recording.
The N200 also has a FM Radio built-in. I use the player primarily at the gym and have found it impossible to pick up anything in there. Outside of the gym I can only pick up a few channels on the radio- and for the most part they don't sound very clear.
Using a line in connection you can encode music from an analog source into Mp3 format. It can be a real money saver if you don't have the ability to rip music from a CD to your computer. I have encoded about 10 songs and they have all been great quality. If you have a favorite old tape or record you can convert these to Mp3's as well.
Creative MediaSource Music Organizer software is included with your purchase. The great thing is that you don't have to use it if you don't want to. I prefer to drag and drop my files. I have used the software when I rip music from a CD to my computer. You have the option to view music by playlist, album or artist. The software is mediocre as far as playlist softwares go, but it gets the job done.
When you change songs etc. a indigo blue light comes on for about 15 seconds. You do here a faint buzzing noise while the light is on, but it is a small price to pay for such a great Mp3 player. I actually enjoy going to the gym now! Someone is always stopping me and saying "That is the smallest radio I have ever seen." They are shocked when I tell them that it is not just a radio---- it's an Mp3 player, a voice recorder AND a radio!
