Under $100! It's not a home theater but the kids will love you for it. Hey! I like it too.
This little portable has done alright for me. I bought it at a Best Buy on sale for $80 last year. The kids love it especially when on long car trips and it is a lot cheaper than other portables. But you do get what you pay for.
The picture quality is pretty darn good, even a year after heavy use. A 5 year olds sticky fingers and other slimy things all over it has not damaged it too bad. The only damage is to the finish, it seems to be chipping in some areas. The sound could be a little louder, the volume only goes up high enough for about one person to hear it. The sound is pretty good when I put in a decent pair of headphones. The buttons are cheap but functional. The remote is small and of pretty good quality.
The rechargeable battery only lasts for about one hour. When on trips we use the car's outlet for power. It does come with an outlet attachment for the car and the home.
Overall you can't beat it for the price. DVD quality picture on the go, not bad. I wish I had one of these when I was a kid. And if you do have children and drive a lot with them, do your ears and sanity some good and buy a portable for the kids.
