The Bottom Line:  Enjoy a beautiful piece of machinery that will clear up desk space and impress your most tech savvy friends.
Not every day do I use my computer. I use it every hour. Every waking moment. I'm sad to share with you that my computer is my life! So as I came to realize such a fact, I asked myself "Why am I stuck with my ugly Compaq monitor?" I pondered my question, (as I continued to stare into its cold pixels) at my Amazon.com superstore. Therein, I decided to splurge (as all of my epinions reveal) on a flat screen monitor. My office is somewhat of an ergonomically superior statement of myself and my love of high tech gadgets. Flatscreen anything always has had its appeal, and my office could sure use the space a flat screen monitor affords.

And so, my crusade began to find a superior flat screen monitor to match my office, but too save my eyes from the cold abyss manufactured by Compaq. I stumbled upon NEC-Mitsubishi's website. I was impressed. (I'm easy when it comes to buying.) I began to research their 15" monitors heavily. The inch factor got me nervous. (In actuality, a 15" flatscreen is only .8" smaller in length and width as compared to a standard 17" model.) So, I was set on 15". I found that 17" monitors cost significantly more, sometimes $500 more. My eyes stopped on the most beautiful machine I've ever seen. The 1530V-BK model was EXACTLY what I wanted. I had hit jackpot. I found a beautiful flatscreen gem, under $400.

Now, you ask, was my purchase worth it? An emphatic, "YES!!"

I tore open the box. The monitor was synch to setup, and configured easily with my Compaq. (I decided to go all out black for my keyboard, mouse, and speakers so my desktop would have some common thread.) Everything looked perfect, and that's all I cared about. The deep true colors that echoed off of my eyes attacked my senses. I was in love. The on screen displays were simple to configure. Simplicity is this monitor's middle name. The image quality and color fidelity were astounding. I ran a few videos, and some graphics I had worked on and sat aghast at their true textures and appeal.

Space saving was an added bonus. This little guy must take up less than a 1/3 of the room of my old buhemuth of a monitor weighing in at 67 lbs. (This guy tips the scale at just over 10 lbs.!) My office was complete. While using this monitor I came to notice its long term affect on my eyes. No longer did I experience strain. Since the monitor is truely flat, and goes to the edge of the plastic portion of the screen, there is no distortion, and glare is minimized. I am now able to stare at my applications for a hours longer (unfortunately!)

Now for those more technical oriented, I will relay some facts: The 200:1 high-contrast display with 1,024 x 768 resolution and 0.3-millimeter dot pitch combine to produce unreal images. Aforementioned setup was a snap, and the No-Touch Auto Adjusting technology adjusted many display settings. From the very first use it was clear this monitor was efficiently using every pixel of space on the screen. This guy's 1,024 x 768 resolution, 0.3-millimeter dot pitch, and a 200:1 contrast ratio provided remarkably crisp images and textures, it was amazing.

What you ask are the reasons that sold me on this monitor?
The screen is only 2.7 inches thick, there is an extremely small footprint, exceptional color quality, and the No-Touch Auto Adjusting technology works like a charm. Negatives are few, however do exist. Small text sizes (we're talking 8 pt.) cast a small shadow behind them. Additionally, you cannot attach your speakers to this monitor.

The monitor is truly stunning, and as an additional bonus, is backed by a 3-year warranty. Just buy it. Save yourself some peace of mind and desk space while you're at it.
