The Bottom Line:
Below average based on Navman's lack of map updates and support. As well as requiring you to purchase the software to connect the unit to a computer.
I've had my Navman F20 for about a year now. It works pretty good most of the time. I like that it's small enough to fit in my shirt pocket when I'm leaving the car. Operation is pretty easy. I've encountered some difficulties using it in the city. It sometime doesn't provide enough warning before a turn. Sometimes I'm in the intersection when it's telling me to turn. It does not speak street names which can cause confusion when there are several streets close together and it's telling me to turn left or right. I've ended up on the wrong street. Out on the freeway it seems to work just fine. It will tell you which exit number to take. But like in the city, it sometimes won't doesn't tell me soon enough which ramp to take when there are multiple exit ramps stacked close together. Since I bought the unit there have been no map updates available. So occasionally the unit tells me to take turns that no longer exist or it refuses to locate an address in newer areas around town. I found that Navman does not support my computers' 64bit operating system. If I wish to install the latest update to the units operating system I'll have to find a 32bit computer to do it on. Probably due to the lack of updated maps, the unit steers me about 2 miles out of the way when returning to my home. I can be sitting 1 block away from home it the unit turns me north for one mile then east or west(depending on me approach) then south. It fails to display the correct address for my home as well. The address is off by about 1 block. There is also n software support for my 64bit computer. All updates and maps will cost you. You must buy the software and cable from Navman to connect to a (32bit) computer.
