My first Nextel phone, not bad!
Pros
Nice design, relatively small, loud ring alerts, speakerphone.
Cons
Can be bulky in pocket. Weak vibration alert. Does not come with a holster.
Recommended it?
Yes
The Bottom Line:
There's no reason not to get it if you're signing up with Nextel. It has nice looks, durability, portability and clarity. Go for it!
I am a cell phone guru. I change cell phones every opportunity I have. This time, I wanted Nextel for the speakerphone and the direct connect feature. I narrowed down my phone search to the i90 or the i60. The only difference between the two is that the i90 has the external caller id and a blue blacklight verses the i60's classic green backlight and no external caller id.
I chose the i60 for the price, plus it's a nice looking phone. If I choose to get another phone, all I have to do is take the SIM card from this phone and put it into another one and switch again when I'm in need for a change. So the decision wasn't too tough for me.
Nextel was offering a $50.00 rebate at the time I bought this phone. The store I went to was selling this phone for $50.00, so basically it would be free. But these guys have a lot of room to bargain with and I ended up not paying the $50.00, but still got the $50.00 rebate from Nextel. So just know that even if you choose to get this phone or not to get this phone, Nextel retailers can work with the phone costs. Their commissions come from your service contract.
From what I have found so far, this phone is great. No real complaints here, except...the phone doesn't come with a holster, so I had to buy one separately. And, the vibration alert is one of the weakest I've experienced so far.
This phone has nine ring styles and 250 phone contacts.
The quality of this phone is amazing. You can hear who you're talking to while standing in a busy intersection and carry on a conversation quite well! I have found that since the microphone is close to the bottom edge of the phone - often times, my finger covers it, obviously making my voice impossible to hear on the other end. This is something to be aware of.
The speaker phone feature is really cool. While driving, the phone can sit on the passenger seat and the speaker phone is more than adequate. I use that feature all the time when I'm on the computer. I just rest the phone in front of me and talk. Keep in mind though, speakerphone use takes more out of the battery charge.
If you're in the middle of deciding on phones to get, you really won't regret getting this one. Go for it, it's a nice Motorola product.
