Pros Great Feel, 10.2 Megapixels, Choice in Superior Lens Group use, Excellent Value and...
Cons D200 Supply has not yet met Demand, Supplied 15-70 lens light and a bit Flimsy
Recommended it? Yes

My experience as a professional photographer began in the mid 80's and 90's when I was a photojournalist for a couple of the wire services. During this time I had several motor driven Nikon F3 cameras and access to the company owned Kodak and Fuji Finepix Nikon based digital camera bodies for tight... Read full review »

An Investment for the right photographer.

Pros Fires fast. Big viewfinder. Auto White Balance diopter does not slip / features
Cons Nikon(Canada) support is idiotic. Battery runs down quickly. Number of images on a card
Recommended it? Yes

Let us get this out of the way. You will be wasting your money if you do not need the D200's speed. As far as image quality goes, there is not enough difference to justify the cost.

I shoot birds and animals, and I need the speed. The D200 delivers. This is determined by the auto focus,... Read full review »

Pros solid design, good feel, great battery life expandable use of lens and flash accesories
Cons used it and can't think of anything that would bother me

I don't own one but I've used one and the images it produces are great. I used the D 200 with a Nikon 18-135 lens and the images were sharp and crisp from 18 to 135. Battery life is excellent. The cameras menu is easy to understand and the body with attached lens is comfortable to handle. There are... Read full review »

Cons Returned first camera due to significant banding flaw - second one is great though!
Recommended it? Yes

I haven't shot with this camera enough yet to write a detailed review, but I will later. The menus system with the camera works very well, and the large, high res LCD screen is great.
Most of all I am impressed with the speed of the camera, and combined with the high quality of the images that... Read full review »

Pros The best digital SLR, for the money, on the market.
Cons It is a very complex piece of equipment that requires time to master.

You can read many, many reviews of the D200 in terms of build quality, etc. I sold my D70 (a great camera) and bought the D200 and after about eight weeks I finally found the settings that gave me the best clarity, color, and saturation. Here they are JPEG File: Large ISO 100, Saturation -, Color... Read full review »
