The NES...
Pros
Fun factor, games.
Cons
Age, hardware, more buttons on the controller might be nice.
Recommended it?
Yes
The Bottom Line:
Fun system, nostalgic factor, games, and price (go to yard sales).
So this is my review on the Nintendo NES, the system that has stood the test of time, led the industry for video games, and... collected dust.
Anyway, I got mine at a yard sale for $2.50 w/ Tetris 2 for SNES. (NES was basically $2.) $2?! Yes. It was originally $4 but I plugged it in and the light was blinking... I now know that with no games in the systems, it blinks. Anyway, it came
with games, cords, and NES Satellite.
Alright, now to the review.
Graphics:
Some games, good. Some games, not so good. Good graphics considering the age of the system.
Sound:
Since the NES uses "simpler" hardware, say, in SMB3, when you jump, you don't hear all the music.
Controller: (A, B, D-pad, Start, and Select)
Actually, the controller is pretty good. The buttons have a pretty good feel, and are quite responsive.
Games:
Some games are good, (Zelda 2, Super Mario Bros. 3) and not so good games. (Destination Earthstar) Considering the system came out in 1985, the graphics are pretty good, but sometimes pixelated.
Final Impression:
The NES is a good, fun game system with some crappy games, but also some gems.
