Pros There aren't any load times, ever!
Cons Way too many childish games.
Recommended it? No

It?s time to go old school Nintendo. No I am not talking about the infamous ?regular Nintendo? I am of course talking about the Nintendo 64. With the coming release of the highly anticipated Nintendo GameCube, the N64 will soon be forgotten, just like all old systems are. It is time for Nintendo to... Read full review »

Pros Great Multiplayer System
Cons Lack of Games
Recommended it? No

The Nintendo 64 is one of those systems that make you go hmmmm...?
It could have been a great Powerhouse for a system but it lacked a few key resources, but the amazing thing is Nintendo has managed to make a considerable profit off the system, but consider Nintendo has managed to make a profit... Read full review »

Pros Great graphics, easy to use console
Cons games are a little pricey
Recommended it? Yes

As long as I have been buying video game consoles, NES has always been my first choice. I bought the original Nintendo back in the early 80's and my wife enjoyed to play all the games that were available at the time.
The graphics at the time were state of the art, and they only got better as... Read full review »

Pros durable console, great game selection for younger children
Cons not the "newest thing"
Recommended it? Yes

I bought the Nintendo 64 system for my kids in 1999 for $99. I can't believe that it is two years later and they still love using it. Game systems usually have a short lifespan around our house and the kids have always tired of different systems soon after they came out. There is a Game Console... Read full review »

N64-The Best Game System for Younger Kids

byImAmes Jan 23, 2001

Pros Easy to use, better variety of games for ages 10 and younger
Cons As any game system, takes some time to learn the controllers
Recommended it? Yes

We bought our Nintendo 64 Game System 3 years ago, when it was starting to do down in price. Waiting had paid off, and we picked up the regular, black N64 Machine with only ONE controller for $99.99 at Toys R' Us here in Wisconsin.

Why did I want to purchase this one? For one thing, I had... Read full review »

Pros more powerful hardware than the Playstation, some great titles, 4 controller ports
Cons expensive even today, the controller was a mess, lack of variety in its library
Recommended it? No

It wasn't until 6 months ago that I owned an N64. After years spent with friend's N64s, both positive and negative, I thought it might be worth the $20 I spent on the base system. Now after 6 months of sitting down and using the system, I realize that it's probably too late to get into the N64... Read full review »

Cartridges rule!

byAlmighty Feb 26, 2000

Pros Fast boot time
Cons Becoming dated, many titles cartoony in nature
Recommended it? Yes

Yes, the Dreamcast has better graphics and the Playstation has 100x as many games, but N64 offers the only cartridge system out there. Some have written reviews bashing the cartridge format decision over the more sleek and "advanced" CD formats of Playstation, Dreamcast, and soon to be Playstation... Read full review »

Why my son got one of these things...

Pros A system for kids as evidenced by format, licenses and etc.
Cons Adults will likely get bored; lack of support when compared with PS1
Recommended it? Yes

I've hated the Nintendo 64 ever since it came out. I hated the kid-friendly games, the cartridge format used for the system and the controllers. Oddly, the very things I hate about the system makes it great for my five-year-old son.

Let me explain. My kid has been hounding me for one of... Read full review »

Pros Not Much Loading, Great Variety Of Games, And Games Don't Get Easily Damaged!!!!!
Cons Their Games Are Not As Cheap As Playstation's Games!!!!!!
Recommended it? Yes

The Nintendo 64 video game system is a definite winner because of it's price, video game selection, how N64's games don't easily get damaged, and not that much down load time unlike some video game systems out there. This video game system is real cheap and is good for all you penny savers out... Read full review »

The Nintendo 64: - You Were Either N or You Were Out

Pros Some Truly Excellent Titles, Strong First and Second Party Support, Accessories
Cons Lacking Third Party Games, Few Titles, Ultra Bulky Controller
Recommended it? Yes

Nintendo was a company, on a mission. With the emergence of Sega's CD add ons for their popular Genesis console, Nintendo was a bit worried that they would miss out on a possible revolution with the CD format for games. Thus they set to work with their business partner Sony (who developed the sound... Read full review »
