Great little phone.

Pros Small size, extended battery life, features.
Cons None.
Recommended it? Yes
I have been using the Nokia 2180 for over a year and I love it. It is small without being too small to handle. With the extended battery on the phone, I have about 3 days of standby or 3 hours of talk time before I have to recharge the battery. What with turning the phone off at night, a single charge can last me a week or longer.

When using the features of the phone, there is a light that makes it easy to read the display. And the display is large enough to read without a magnifying glass. The menu items are displayed for you and you can select which item you want to change, without having to remember obscure key strokes. Just push the "MENU" key and then scroll through the items until you get to the 1 that you want. Then just push the "SELECT" key and the options will be displayed, allowing you to scroll through them until the 1 that you want is displayed. Then just push the "SELECT" key again and your option has been changed. If you decide you don't want to change anything, then just push the "QUIT" key.

The phone number/name memory is great. If you want to find a number, just push the "MEMORY" key and then enter the first few characters of the name that you want to find. The closest match will be displayed. If that is not the name that you were looking for, then you can just scroll through the names until the name that you are looking for is displayed. Then push "SEND" and the number will be called.

Because the phone is both a digital phone and an analog phone, it is useful in all markets. I have digital service in my home area, and I really like the CallerID feature. Plus, the display shows the current day of the week, the month, the day, the year, and the time. A nice feature is the ability to lock the key pad. By pressing the "MENU" key and then the "*" key, the key pad is disabled. That way you can't accidently dial Russia. To enable the key pad, just press the "MENU" key and then the "*" key (if you forget the combination, the display even tells you what keys to press).

There are 3 memories that can be accessed: dialed, answered, and missed calls. Each memory lists the last 10 calls. And if the number is in your phone book, the name will also be displayed. When you are displaying a number (for instance, the last missed call), you can just press "SEND" and the number will be called back.

Another nice feature is that there are 10 different ringers to select from. All the way from the traditional ring up to Beethoven's Fur Elise.
