I LOVE my Nokia 2180...
I have been using this phone for about 18 Mos. now. I had originally bought it for the functions, I like gadgets, but LOVE ones that work.
* Caller ID - Loved it so much, I got it installed at home
* 3 Way calling - Although I'm not a "Popular" guy, it did come in handy when my sister was in a car accident.
* Call waiting - again rarely use, but hey, it was free.
* Digital Text Messaging - Would be better if GTE had an E-Mail option instead of their hard to find web page for messages.
* VoiceMail / Paging - The voicemail is great except the message notification doesn't always come through for me (Again maybe GTE)
* Analog and Digital - All in one neat little package, (What's a "Dropped" call?)
* Size - I find this phone fits my hand perfectly and the numbers keys are big enough as to not cause many wrong numbers.
* Durability - OK so I'm rough on my toys, this thing had been dropped on concrete (Several times), Down stairs, Left on the dashboard (on a HOT sunny day in CA), stepped on, kicked, spilled on, Found by my 2 year old nephew who thought it was a hammer. You name it, the 2180 can handle it. (By the way My phone has been MUCH happier since I bought a belt clip.)
* Battery life - Battery generally lasts about 3 days (with power on 24/7).
There have only been a few "Problems" with this phone.
1) When the signal is weak I find that turning it off, then on again helps.
2) Slow response from the keys.
3) Sometimes (esp. when roaming) the phone seems to reboot itself. Although this has never happened while I was using it. once or twice it was sitting in the passengers seat and I noticed that it was happening.
