The Bottom Line:
Whether you're a professional needing to keep yourself organized or a hip teen, this phone has features for both.
If you follow my reviews, you'll note that I hold onto old technologies 'till they wear out or break. Someone gave me their spare Nokia phone when mine went on the fritz. When I got it, the screen on the outside didn't function any longer but that's the only thing on this used phone that didn't. That wasn't a huge problem, as it wasn't a full color display anyway and just has a LCD screen that shows the time and an incoming call's number.
The screen displays bright true colors, in that the picture I took with the built in camera and use as my background has colors that are not distorted or inaccurate. I save the pictures on to a flash drive and you can barely tell the pictures were taken with a cell phone camera, unless the focal point is more than about 10 feet away. Obviously, the pictures aren't professional quality to sell the images on iStockPhoto, but they're good enough to do things like taking pictures of an auto accident, houses you like while house shopping, or limited pictures on a vacation. With addition of a microSD card, you can store as many pictures, videos and sounds that you like. Do not rely on the phone's memory, as it's only enough for a couple of pictures.
The battery lasts a long time- pretty much all day and night, if I haven't talked much. The long lasting battery helps me not to miss calls if I leave my phone on all day. If my battery is low, after my 20 minute commute from work, it's usually pretty well charged. I've had phones that suck the life out of the battery and then take almost hours to recharge.
These are the features I use most on the phone. It has a stopwatch, recorder, and calendar. Other people may have their Blackberries and the latest iPhone but I depend on the calendar on this phone to help me stay organized. As a customer service evaluator, the recorder and stopwatch are invaluable to make sure I'm relaying my experience accurately.
It's web ready but I don't get data plans on flip phones because the screens are too small. However, if you were interested and especially if you're a music junkie, there's a whole bunch of apps available. There were passable ringtones but it's the alert tones that I like. The alerts can be set for alarms, incoming text messages and events on your calendar.
It's a really good phone for teenagers because of all the apps, especially ones who can actually stand having a phone that didn't just come out last week.
