Great Phone, but with one MINOR Drawback
Pros
Compact phone with all the bells and whistles expected in a PIM phone.
Cons
Voice recorder button is placed such that it is always activated when handling the phone.
Recommended it?
Yes
The Bottom Line:
If you are considering this phone, I recommend buying it because of its utility, compact size, and ease of use.
I purchased this phone after the company I worked for told me I can't have a phone with a camera. Since PIM phones are about the only things without cameras these days, I decided to get one.
The phone overall is great; great screen, easy to use menus, Bluetooth capability, and several programs that can be used to make the phone something you want to uses, as opposed to programs you will never use because someone else chose them.
The one thing I really dislike about this phone is that the voice recorder button seems to get in the way any time I am taking the phone out of the holster or answering a call or just about anything that deals with handling the phone. The ONLY option is to lock the keyboard.
Contacted Nokia and they replied that this feature was greatly desired by customers. I explained that it would be so much more useful IF they only changed the location of the button, so that it is not accidentally hit each time you handle the phone. They never replied back to that suggestion.
I paid $99 for the phone as part of a phone upgrade option and extended my service with Cingular (now AT&T again) for 2 years.
As for Cingular service... That is another matter. Overall the service is good, but the charges are getting rediculously high. There is at least a 60% markup on what it costs them to provide the service. But they drop more calls in my area than any other provider...just that they have a wider coverage area.
