Nice features, too bad it doesn't last

Pros voice quality, easy to take pictures, small size, good speakerphone
Cons headset and other jacks not durable, requires phone jacket to prevent damage
Recommended it? No
The Bottom Line:  Great features, but very fragile. Headset and pin power jack failed quickly, case requires protection.
Over the past year or so, I've gone through two Sanyo 8200s. I've been using cell phones for years, and my previous ones were LG and Samsung phones which were still in prime shape when I turned them in for a phone with more features. I like the ease to take pictures, voice quality, size, speakerphone functionality, etc. on the 8200. The features are easier to navigate than my Sanyo RL-4920 (which I still use for my business phone). However, my first 8200 ended up with the hinge cracking open and the headset jack inoperable after 6 months. Hinge breaks CAN be repaired at Sprint stores (find a legacy PCS store while the legacy Nextel ones get up to speed). However, when the jacks don't work, they have to order a new phone, which was done under warranty. Second phone arrives, they kindly move my phone book to the new phone, and within two months, the pin power jack fails to work. At the PCS store, they swapped out my chargers for the ones with the wide plug end for free. However, now the headset jack doesn't work again.

I'm not really rough with the phones and never had this problem with other phones. Sprint has been very good about replacing phones under warranty and swapping out chargers. The only reason why I haven't replaced this 8200 is because I don't want this to happen again and I'm looking for another picture phone.

If you don't use a headset much and consider this phone, spend the money on the vinyl jacket (get the one specifically for the phone so it has holes for the camera and jacks in the right places) since it will prevent the case damage.
