Very Good, but not great. A few design flaws
Pros
I agree with Bluetokey review,
Cons
Some special shooting features don't seem to apply well to real life (super macro).
Recommended it?
Yes
The Bottom Line:
It is comparable to other companies'. You won't go wrong with this one if you accept its choices. For creativity, go for another that allows more manual input.
Wonderful little thing. My pet peeve is the battery (LI-42B) must be removed to charge it (no power inlet or USB charging, hence no cradle). It seems to work a long time, but having to remove the battery means I must purchase a spare, and rotate to keep them charged. There are fair quality batteries on E-bay. The very wide ISO range (something like 50 to 1000) shows graininess in very low light situations, and doesn't lock onto settings then.
But I HAVE to mention the PANORAMA S/W included - Olympus Master 2. It really works! as long as some "horizon" or object is within about 1/4" vertical and horizontal boxes (on the screen) on two or more shots, it merged well.
A very "Point and Shoot" Camera, works in all but the most unusual situations, which are beyond the capabilities of me, unless I "bracket" every shot. This camera chooses better than I would, although I do miss the option to manually control shots, even if I rarely use it. Several shots were surprising in quality. Others (usually low-light) couldn't get the "green light" (settings are locked).
This replaces a 5 year old 3 MP camera, and this is quite an upgrade from a camera that had half the options and worked all the time! Digital cameras...take hundreds of pictures, save tens.
