The Bottom Line:
Now retired
I have been taking photos for nearly 50 years and I find that this is the most convenient camera I have ever owned. It all so has amazing qualities such as an ultra fast lens is water resistant and is small enough to put in a pocket and hardly be noticed
Almost 3 years old I have found that I have purchased 2 new batteries. one every 25 rolls of 24 exp. print film. The prints are good in most cases, although in the hands of others the auto focus is not always successful. I had the same problem when first using auto focus on my Nikon SLR system. Both prints and negatives reproduce well on my scanners.
When riding my motorcycle or driving the miata the camera never gets in the way and can be put into action very quickly. I especially like the flash fill in feature and always use it for people pictures even in the middle of summer. The time exposure is handy and seldom do I use one of my 3 tripods, just place it on whatever is convenient to prop it up on.
Problems:
A couple of times I have had light on the edge of the negs.
Solution:
Take a dampened Q tip, open up the back (with no film in) and gently swab the rubber gasket to remove dust etc. Then spray a little silicone on another Q tip and lightly cover the entire gasket to renew the seal.
I have a case for the camera but seldom use it so I suppose it makes it prone to dust. The occasional de dusting is a small price to pay.
Now retired and replaced by a series of digital cameras the latest being a Canon S95
