if you purchase this remote, buy stock in ray-o-vac
the remote is pretty cool to look at for about a day, then on day 2 you'll need to replace the batteries. I'm being a little tough on the poor kameleon... the batteries last exactly 10 days. at this rate I figure you'll spend about $60-80 on the kameleon, and about $140 annually to use it... Great remote - crappy battery life - Modified with on/off switch
The first month I had the remote it worked great until I had to replace my first set of batteries, apx 1 month. We'll no big deal at first then the following month, same thing. Still don't think to much about it yet, we'll the third month rolls around and dam I gotta replace the batteries again... Read full review »
Not as flexible as expected
This remote definitely looks cool and goes a long way towards consolidating a pile of remotes, but there are quite a few shortfalls and annoyances.
My top complaint is that it can only learn a maximum of 17-25 buttons for the whole remote. Our off-brand DVD player was not in the code list...

A Perfect Compliment to a Home Theater System

Don't buy if you have Tivo (Sony DirecTV version)
Initially this was a good remote, as far as universal remotes go. The screen is cool to watch, but the slightest vibration causes it to come on which really destroys battery life. Great remote but battery usage is terrible. Breathe in the wrong direction and this thing turns on. I was going through a set of Duracell's every week until I modified it.
