Rock solid, assignable digital inputs
Pros
great sound quality, ample switching, assignable digital inputs
Cons
zone two and recording source assignment too difficult
Recommended it?
Yes
I'm using this reciever to run my home theater system. Speakers are all Paradigms except for the Velodyne 12" servo subwoofer. It integrates flawlessly
Setup takes a few minutes, letting the receiver know how many speakers you have, their locations andequilizing levels. Getting the correct digital inputs with the analog device names likewise took some doing - rely on the manual till you have it figured.
Sound quality is great. Surround modes are automatically choosen based on the source but may be manually assigned.
Second zone outputs use the tape loop circuitry so you are only able to do one or the other i.e. record or listen to zone two speakers. I'm pretty tech facile but still have difficulty with this feature - i often can't get sound to my zone two speakers or pick the correct source to record. Even after I pick up the manual and try to follow directions.
