Outstanding receiver with 7.1 digital sound for under $1000

The Bottom Line:
Outstanding Receiver that can accommodate any type of A/V configuration now and into the future.
Well built and very durable receiver. Strong and very rich output sound. The first receiver I own that I can setup via my TV screen. Setup menu is very easy to use and options are thorough when setting up speakers for 6.1 or 7.1 digital sound. There are plenty of A/V inputs and outputs for any type of system configuration. I had to purchase an additional amplifier for 7.1 digital output and the receiver's 12v control of the amplifier is a nice touch. If you want to spend more money for the same quality as the TX-DS787 then spend it on something like a better speaker or sub woofer.
