Solid projector at a great price
Pros
Price, resolution, brightness, clarity, picture size/distance, remote, keystone, connection options.
Cons
Bulb smell, HD connection cables not included.
Recommended it?
Yes
The Bottom Line:
I would definitely recommend one. Actually a buddy of mine and I bought the same one at 2 different Best Buys
This is an XBOX 360 owner's dream. Vibrant colors, great contrast ratio. At around 10' distance it projected an 82" picture. No rainbow affect. The keystone functionality suited our needs fine.
Gaming:
We used an XBOX 360 with an XBOX VGA cable for hook up. We were able to get a fantastic picture out of the native 1024x768 resolution. Tested with "Burnout: Revenge" and "Fight Night: Round 3". Absolutely fantastic.
DVD:
We tried Star Wars: Clone Wars. (I know it's a horrible movie, but I had it on hand.) It looked really good. I'm really pleased with the picture quality. I assumed that the onboard speakers we horrible and didn't bother trying.
Sights, Sounds, and smells:
VGA input at 1024x728 looked fantastic. I cannot comment on any other modes, because we didn't try them. On screen display was easy to follow.
The unit was pretty quiet, but not silent. A bit quieter than some.
The bulb smells a bit. Reminded me of when my parents would pull out their slides of when my father was stationed in Okinawa. Thought it would go away, but it doesn't. Bulb smell... don't like it. Don't know if that applies to other projectors.
I bought this unit at Best Buy for $899 (as an Open Box Buy with 10 hours on the bulb) and also received a $100 Gift Card.
