Pros Had a good picture when it worked. Sleek design.
Cons Expensive, Short life span, No backing from company.

Bought this TV on the recommendation of the salesperson from a high end audio-video store. Soon had problems resulting in several services calls & TV out of commission while new mother board ordered and replaced. Pros Very low cost for 65 inches of 1080i. Flawless performance. Absolutely no problems.
Cons heavy. get some friends if you want to move this to your basement
Recommended it? Yes

I have had mine for nearly two years and have had absolutely no problems with it. People are amazed to see the vivid screen resolution in my home theater provided by the Optoma with Direct TV HD.

Pros good picture, good size for such a large set.
Cons No extended warranty available. Integrated Color engine.

After reading these reviews, I felt disheartened when my 2nd RD65 went crazy. The first was replaced after 9 months do to some wierd electrical mal function without any issues. As mentioned by the other reviewer's, this TV is not a high quality at all. I had nothing but problems with it from day one. I bought my RD-65 in July of 2005. Cons Numerous motherboard issues. Lack of support from Optoma.

Optoma normally make projector TVs. This is their first foray into the actual "normal" television realm and it shows.
