Good but cheap
Pros
Cheap at $149 a year ago
Cons
Poor operating software. Captions that won't turn off.
Recommended it?
Yes
The Bottom Line:
Decent cheap player with a few flaws. Worst captions that won't turn off. And an AV. switch that may make you think yours is dead.
I bought this DVD player a year ago and the only problem I've had is turning off the captions. The only way I can get them to stay off is after the move starts hit the menu button go into the DVD options and turn them off then resume movie. This will not work if you do it before you start the movie. I will agree that you get what you pay for but even after a year of moderate use mine still works. Mine has been thru some rough stuff on top of that. I have used it while camping all year. Even with the dust and dirt it still works. Spilled a drink on it and even left it on charge for more than eight hours even though the instructions says eight hour max. I have also used the car adapter to charge the battery even though the instructions advise agents it. The only other problem I've had is once in a while the buttons will not respond. FOR ANYBODY WHO'S PLAYER HAS STOPPED WORKING READ THIS: Check that the AV. switch on the right side is in the OUT position. If it is in the IN position it will make the player seam not to work. If the AV. switch trick works for anyone and you write a review please note it as I hope this helps someone.
