The Bottom Line:
You may be lucky and get one that works, but you will still have to work through two softwares.
I've spent a week, three hours a day installing and removing and reinstalling the TWO softwares. Occasionally the unit scanned slides, but never negatives. I had to cut my negatives and mount them as slides. The colours never matched the slides.
You must first load Adobe Photo Elements. Then from within load the scanner software.
However, the next time I would turn on the computer, the scanner would not work.
MacMall will not take the scanner back. Their tech support expresses astonishment.
The maker, Pacific Image ignores my emails. Naturally their tech support is closed when I get home from work.
By comparison, my digital camera software automatically detects the camera, boots the software, and one click unloads the camera.
