Not worth the money
Pros
It hasn't damaged any film or slides yet.
Cons
Bad tonal range, dark scans (especially B&W film), drivers frequently hang forcing a reboot.

This scanner is a stinker. The first one I recieved would not load the film. The replacement would if the film was forced. Overall the images (including slides) are really dark. Trying to lighten them up looses contrast. I have to put way too much photoshop effort into fixing the scans. After about 4 months I'm getting a better scanner and looking to sell this one. I don't even want to keep it as a backup.
Also the drivers for this scanner are really shadey. If I don't fire up the scanner after a fresh boot there's a good chance that trying to scan a slide will hang the computer and force a reboot. Task manager won't let me kill the process. It doesn't play nicely with other imaging peripherals.
