AutoFilmLoading WILL save you time when converting years of negatives to digital format
Several years ago, I made the switch to digital photography and have never looked back. I have now have gigabytes of beautiful, clear digital pictures. Oh how I wished there was a GOOD, EASY way to take the years of film-based pictures and turn them into digital format...
Sure, I've tried...

Jury still out...
The software is pretty easy and clear to use and I would recommend this product if it produced good scans, but I can't because it doesn't. I don't think it is focusing on the surface of the film correctly. I'm pursuing technical support, but the website is slow, slow, slow and I haven't seen any... Read full review »

Software
>>Rating = 10
How many times have you bought a scanner to find the software is just barely enough to scan the images and your not able to do any editing/color correcting unless you use a second program that is not provided to edit? IMHO, too often, so when I saw this scanner had...

Lemon
I've spent a week, three hours a day installing and removing and reinstalling the TWO softwares. Occasionally the unit scanned slides, but never negatives. I had to cut my negatives and mount them as slides. The colours never matched the slides.
You must first load Adobe Photo Elements...

Good for the price
I paid about $250 for mine, had it 3 weeks, then returned it and will be receiving my 3600 PRO shortly. One thing that surprised me a little bit is that even though this scanner is one of the faster ones out there, scanning slides and film is a very time-consuming process! It requires quite a bit... Not worth the money
This scanner is a stinker. The first one I recieved would not load the film. The replacement would if the film was forced. Overall the images (including slides) are really dark. Trying to lighten them up looses contrast. I have to put way too much photoshop effort into fixing the scans. After about... Read full review »
Don't buy this.
I was hoping to convert many slides to digital images to share old memories with family and friends. I installed the software without problems: In fact, I installed it about 20 time during the month and one-half I tried to use it. I would have to re-install because it would crash and have to be... Adequate and useful scanner
I've had this unit for about 1.5 years. It is a great compromise between the high end (and high priced) scanners that do a professional job and low-end scanners, including flatbed scanners. It handles negative strips easily. I've had no problems with the drivers, even after upgrading to latest... Read full review »
It'll damage your negatives!
I have so many negatives to scan, so finally I decided to buy a scanner for negative films. The PF1800 AFL was my first choice, because of (advertised) quality and price.
I paid about $280 at Fry's.
The first unit, doesn't load the film. As much as I can push the film inside, the film...

Waste of Money, does not perform
I originally bought the PF 1800AFL about 4 years ago to scan all my all slides and negatives.
Even when it was new it didn't work very well. It was rubbish at auto-scanning a film strip and didn't come close to detecting the correct gaps between frames.
I havn't bothered with it...
